Monstrat Viam!

VAFCC president Larry DiNardo hosted the annual Christmas party at the
Museum on Sunday, December 10, for members of the VAFCC, the FCC, and
friends and family. The festivities began with an open bar and appetizers at 3:00
followed by the traditional turkey dinner with all of the fixins. President DiNardo
then presented Major Bryan Pillai with the President’s Annual Award for
shepherding the Craig Brown bequest for a museum curatorship to a successful
conclusion and working with the collections committee in hiring Michelle Abrams
to fill the position. Then back to holiday business! President DiNardo read “The
Night Before Christmas” and welcomed the Chamber Singers of the College of the
Holy Cross to bring on the carols. The Chamber Singers were led by their newest
conductor, Allegra Martin, and sounded, as always, like a choir of angels. This
marked the fifteenth year that the Holy Cross singers have brought to the
museum their brilliant offering of medieval to modern Christmas carols and
songs. The festivities concluded at 6:00 with the annual auction of gifts and prizes
and desserts. It was a cold and wintry night, but the guests left fortified with
holiday spirit.
