Brigadier General William B. Hurley

BG Bill Hurley, of Winthrop, MA passed away on Sept 15, 2014 at the age of 74. Bill was a lifelong educator who taught for 30 years at Winthrop High School before becoming Dean of Professional Studies at Endicott College. He served for 40 years in the Army and MA National Guard, retiring as a Brigadier General (MA). He earned his BS in Mathematics and Masters in Education from Northeastern University, MBA from Anna Maria College and Doctorate in Education from Johnson and Wales University. Bill founded Commonwealth Clinical Services Home Health Care Agency in 2005 and served as its CEO. Dr. Hurley was also an Adjunct Professor at North Shore and Cambridge Colleges and continued to teach until his passing. General Hurley was past President of the First Corp of Cadets and member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and Sons of Italy. Bill was the beloved husband of Sandra Jean (Olson) for 48 years. Bill was a powerful presence on the VAFCC Board for many years, promoting many initiatives that continue to benefit the organization to the present day.
