Major General Robert C. Davenport

Major General (MA) Bob Davenport passed on February 15, 2017, at the age of 95 years. He was the beloved husband of the late Annetta Marion (Barrus) Davenport and father of Robert C. Davenport, Jr. He was the loving grandfather of Nathaniel Coolidge Davenport and dear brother of the late Charles Davenport and Richard Robinson Davenport. MG Davenport is also survived by his loving companion Polly Kameese and her family of Framingham. MG Davenport served in the US Army during WWII from 1943 – 46 in both the European and Pacific theaters of operations. He joined the Army Reserve and retired in 1978 as a colonel. He then joined the Massachusetts National Guard as the commander of the 3rd Brigade Military Police unit where he served for 5-1/2 years before retiring as a Major General. He was an active member of Veteran Association of the First Corps of Cadets, serving most recently on the Prudential Committee as its chair.
